- Manage and maintain Oracle databases, ensuring their reliability, performance, and security.
- Monitor and troubleshoot database issues, identifying and resolving any problems that arise.
- Continuously improve database systems and processes to enhance efficiency and reliability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and maintain highly available and scalable database solutions.
- Develop and maintain disaster recovery and backup plans, ensuring data integrity and availability.
- Utilize industry best practices and standards to ensure optimal database performance and security.
- Create and maintain documentation for database systems, processes, and procedures.
- Stay updated on emerging database technologies and trends, making recommendations for their implementation.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on database administration and site reliability engineering within the organization.
- Mentor and train junior DBAs and SREs, sharing knowledge and best practices.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their database needs and provide effective solutions.
- Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders to provide status updates, report issues, and propose solutions.
- Participate in on-call rotation to provide 24/7 support for critical database systems.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as industry regulations.
- Continuously assess and improve database security measures to protect sensitive data.
- Collaborate with vendors and third-party service providers to implement and maintain database solutions.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback to team members.

Extensive Experience In Database Administration: A Principal Dba & Site Reliability Job At Oracle Would Require A Candidate To Have A Deep Understanding Of Database Architecture, Maintenance, And Optimization. They Should Have A Proven Track Record Of Managing Large And Complex Databases In Production Environments.
Strong Knowledge Of Oracle Technologies: The Ideal Candidate Should Possess A Strong Understanding Of Oracle Database Technologies Such As Oracle Database, Oracle Rac, Data Guard, And Oracle Enterprise Manager. They Should Also Have Experience With Oracle Cloud Infrastructure And Other Cloud-Based Database Solutions.
Expertise In Performance Tuning And Troubleshooting: As A Principal Dba & Site Reliability, One Must Have A Strong Ability To Identify And Resolve Performance Issues Quickly. They Should Have A Solid Understanding Of Database Performance Tuning Techniques And Tools To Optimize System Performance And Ensure High Availability.
Experience With Automation And Scripting: Automation And Scripting Are Crucial Skills For A Principal Dba & Site Reliability Job At Oracle. The Candidate Should Have Experience With Scripting Languages Such As Sql, Pl/Sql, And Python To Automate Routine Tasks And Improve System Efficiency.
