Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Oracle CORE DBA to join our team and play a crucial role in maintaining and optimizing our database systems. As a CORE DBA, you will be responsible for managing the core functionalities of our Oracle databases including installation, configuration, performance tuning, and backup and recovery. This is a dynamic role that requires strong technical expertise in Oracle 19c, 21c, Python, Shell, and SQL.   1. Manage and maintain Oracle databases to ensure optimal performance and availability.
  2. Install, configure, and upgrade Oracle database software.
  3. Monitor and troubleshoot database performance issues, identifying and resolving them in a timely manner.
  4. Develop and implement database backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and availability.
  5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement database best practices and standards.
  6. Stay updated with the latest Oracle technologies and apply them to improve database performance.
  7. Perform database security audits and implement necessary security measures to protect sensitive data.
  8. Create and maintain documentation related to database configurations, processes, and procedures.
  9. Develop and maintain scripts to automate database tasks, such as backups and data migrations.
  10. Proactively identify and resolve database-related issues, ensuring minimal downtime.
  11. Participate in on-call rotation to provide support for critical database issues.
  12. Train and mentor junior DBAs on database best practices and technologies.
  13. Work closely with development teams to optimize database performance for applications.
  14. Collaborate with vendors to troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues.
  15. Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders to provide updates on database performance and any potential issues.

Job Qualifications

  • Extensive Experience With Oracle Database 19C And 21C: A Qualified Oracle Core Dba Should Have A Strong Understanding Of The Latest Versions Of Oracle Database And Be Able To Effectively Manage And Maintain Them.

  • Proficient In Python Programming: As Data Becomes Increasingly Important In Business Operations, A Dba Must Have Strong Programming Skills To Automate Tasks And Improve Database Performance. Knowledge Of Python Is Particularly Valuable For Its Wide Range Of Data Manipulation And Analysis Capabilities.

  • Proficient In Shell Scripting: A Dba Should Also Have Strong Skills In Shell Scripting To Automate Routine Tasks And Improve Efficiency. This Includes The Ability To Write Scripts For Database Backup And Recovery, Data Loading, And Monitoring.

  • Strong Sql Skills: Sql Is The Primary Language Used For Querying And Manipulating Data In Oracle Databases. A Qualified Oracle Core Dba Should Have A Deep Understanding Of Sql And Be Able To Write Complex Queries To Retrieve And Analyze Data.

  • Proven Experience In Database Administration: A Successful Oracle Core Dba Should Have A Track Record Of Managing And Maintaining Large And Complex Databases In A Production Environment. This Includes Experience With Database Installation, Configuration, Backup And Recovery, Performance Tuning, And Security.
