  1. Maintain the health and quality of nursery plants through regular monitoring, watering, fertilizing, and pest management.
  2. Ensure the success of agricultural products by following proper procedures and protocols for plant care.
  3. Conduct routine inspections and identify any potential issues or diseases affecting the plants.
  4. Collaborate with the Nursery Operations team to develop and implement new techniques and methods to improve plant health and productivity.
  5. Maintain accurate records and documentation of plant inventory, maintenance activities, and any issues encountered.
  6. Operate and maintain equipment and tools used in the nursery.
  7. Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
  8. Communicate effectively with team members and superiors to report progress, issues, and recommendations.
  9. Stay updated on industry developments, new technologies, and best practices in horticulture to continuously improve performance.
  10. Embrace and promote sustainable farming practices in all aspects of the job.
  11. Assist in other nursery tasks, such as transplanting, pruning, and harvesting, as needed.

Job Qualifications
  • Knowledge Of Plant Biology: A Technician, Nursery Operations At Nutrien Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Plant Biology, Including Plant Growth And Development, As Well As Plant Diseases And Pests.

  • Experience In Nursery Operations: Candidates Should Have Previous Experience Working In A Nursery Or Greenhouse Setting, Including Knowledge Of Plant Propagation Techniques, Irrigation Systems, And Pest Management Strategies.

  • Attention To Detail: A Technician, Nursery Operations Must Possess Strong Attention To Detail To Ensure Accurate Record-Keeping, Proper Plant Care, And Precise Measurements For Fertilizer And Pesticide Application.

  • Ability To Work Independently: This Role Requires The Ability To Work Independently, As Well As Part Of A Team. Candidates Should Have The Motivation And Self-Discipline To Complete Tasks And Meet Deadlines Without Constant Supervision.

  • Strong Communication Skills: Effective Communication Is Essential For A Technician, Nursery Operations To Coordinate With Other Team Members, Report Any Issues Or Concerns, And Provide Updates On Plant Growth And Health. Excellent Communication Skills Are Also Necessary When Interacting With Customers And Clients.
