Job Description

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) is seeking a Senior IT Specialist to join our team in Washington, DC. This is a great opportunity for an experienced IT professional to take the lead on a variety of IT-related tasks. The Senior IT Specialist will be responsible for managing IT projects, troubleshooting technical issues, and providing guidance on IT operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background and excellent communication and problem-solving skills.To be successful in this role, you'll need a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. Additionally, you should have at least five years of experience in IT support, systems administration, and/or network engineering. A strong understanding of Windows and Linux operating systems and experience with scripting languages would also be beneficial.If you have a passion for technology and thrive in a fast-paced environment, we'd love to hear from you!

Responsibilities:

  1. Manage IT projects to completion, including scheduling, budgeting, and overseeing team members.
  2. Troubleshoot technical issues and provide guidance on IT operations.
  3. Develop scripts and tools to automate IT processes.
  4. Implement and maintain IT security policies and procedures.
  5. Monitor system performance and ensure uptime of mission-critical systems.
  6. Track and report on system performance metrics.
  7. Research and recommend innovative IT solutions.
  8. Provide technical and operational guidance to team members.
