Job Description

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) is looking for an experienced and motivated professional to join our team as a Senior Emergency Response Coordinator. In this position, you will be responsible for providing leadership and direction for the NRC’s emergency preparedness and response operations. You must possess excellent communication and organizational skills to effectively coordinate and manage the NRC’s emergency response efforts. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in emergency management, public safety, or related field with at least 5 years of experience in emergency response, emergency management, or related field. Additionally, you should have a proven track record of developing and/or leading emergency response plans, working collaboratively with multiple agencies, and utilizing best practices in emergency management. Responsibilites:

  1. Develop and lead the NRC’s emergency response plans, techniques, and contingencies.
  2. Coordinate the NRC’s emergency response efforts with various agencies and organizations.
  3. Utilize best practices in emergency management to ensure the safety and well-being of the public and NRC personnel.
  4. Provide guidance and direction to NRC personnel and other emergency responders.
  5. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of emergency response operations.
  6. Identify and address issues that arise during emergency response operations.
  7. Prepare reports and other documentation related to emergency response operations.
  8. Provide training and education to emergency responders and NRC personnel.
  9. Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, laws, and policies.
  10. Maintain current knowledge of emergency management trends and best practices.
