- Develop and implement ethical standards and policies for the nuclear industry in accordance with federal regulations and NRC guidelines.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on ethical issues and concerns within the nuclear industry, providing guidance and advice to NRC staff and external stakeholders.
- Conduct thorough and timely investigations into potential ethical violations, ensuring proper documentation and resolution of cases.
- Collaborate with other government agencies, industry organizations, and stakeholders to promote ethical practices and maintain the public's trust in the NRC's mission.
- Stay abreast of current ethical standards and best practices in the nuclear industry and make recommendations for updates or improvements to existing policies and procedures.
- Develop and deliver training programs on ethical standards and compliance for NRC staff and external stakeholders.
- Serve as a liaison between the NRC and external entities, such as the Office of Government Ethics and the Department of Justice, on matters related to ethics and compliance.
- Conduct regular reviews and audits of NRC operations to ensure compliance with ethical standards and identify areas for improvement.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to promote ethical practices and address any concerns or issues.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of ethical violations and investigations, and provide regular reports to NRC leadership.
- Uphold a high level of professionalism and integrity in all interactions and decisions related to ethical matters.
- Act as a role model and mentor to other NRC staff, promoting a culture of ethics and integrity throughout the organization.
Knowledge Of Nuclear Regulatory Laws And Regulations: An Ethics Specialist At The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (Nrc) Must Have A Thorough Understanding Of The Laws And Regulations That Govern The Nuclear Industry, Including Nuclear Safety, Security, And Environmental Protection.
Experience In Ethics And Compliance: The Nrc Requires An Ethics Specialist To Have Experience In Developing And Implementing Ethics And Compliance Programs. This Includes Conducting Investigations, Providing Training, And Ensuring Compliance With Ethical Standards.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As An Ethics Specialist, One Must Be Able To Communicate Effectively With All Levels Of Staff And Stakeholders, Including Senior Management, To Provide Guidance And Address Ethical Concerns.
