- Conduct thorough inspections and evaluations of emergency preparedness plans and procedures at nuclear power plants.
- Identify and mitigate potential risks related to emergency preparedness at nuclear facilities.
- Ensure that emergency plans and procedures are in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of emergency response training programs and drills.
- Review and analyze data and reports related to emergency preparedness.
- Communicate findings and recommendations to plant staff and NRC management.
- Provide guidance and assistance to nuclear facilities in developing and maintaining emergency preparedness plans.
- Stay up-to-date on industry standards and best practices related to emergency preparedness.
- Collaborate with other NRC staff and external stakeholders to promote safety and security at nuclear facilities.
- Maintain accurate and thorough records of inspections and evaluations.
- Participate in meetings and conferences related to emergency preparedness.
- Continuously assess and improve emergency preparedness inspection processes.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on emergency preparedness during internal and external audits.
- Conduct training for other NRC staff on emergency preparedness procedures and regulations.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of emergency response policies and procedures.
Bachelor's Degree In A Relevant Field Such As Engineering, Environmental Science, Or Emergency Management.
Knowledge And Understanding Of Emergency Preparedness Regulations And Requirements For Nuclear Power Plants.
Experience Conducting Inspections Or Audits In A Regulatory Or Compliance Setting.
Strong Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills, With The Ability To Identify And Address Potential Safety And Security Risks.
