- Develop and implement psychological treatment plans for pediatric patients undergoing solid organ transplant procedures.
- Conduct comprehensive psychological evaluations and assessments for pediatric patients and their families.
- Collaborate with medical team members to provide integrated care and support for pediatric transplant patients.
- Provide counseling and support for pediatric patients and their families throughout the transplant process, including pre-transplant preparation, post-transplant adjustment, and long-term follow-up.
- Utilize evidence-based techniques and interventions to address the emotional and behavioral needs of pediatric transplant patients.
- Educate and train medical staff and caregivers on psychological aspects of solid organ transplant procedures and how to best support pediatric patients and their families.
- Monitor and track patient progress, and make recommendations for adjustments to treatment plans as needed.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all patient interactions and treatment plans.
- Stay up-to-date on current research and best practices in pediatric psychology and solid organ transplant procedures.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to treatment planning and decision-making.
- Provide crisis intervention and support to pediatric patients and their families as needed.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in all patient interactions.
- Promote a positive and supportive environment for patients and families, and actively contribute to the overall mission and values of Northwestern University.
Doctoral Degree In Psychology (Phd Or Psyd) With A Specialization In Pediatric Psychology.
Licensed As A Psychologist In The State Of Illinois, Or Eligible For Licensure.
Experience Working With Pediatric Patients And Families Within A Medical Setting, Preferably With Solid Organ Transplant Patients.
Knowledge And Understanding Of The Psychological And Emotional Challenges Faced By Pediatric Patients And Families Undergoing Solid Organ Transplant.
Ability To Collaborate With A Multidisciplinary Team Of Healthcare Professionals, Including Physicians, Nurses, And Social Workers, To Provide Comprehensive Care For Pediatric Transplant Patients.
