
Medical Laboratory Scientist - Immunology
Northwestern University is looking for an experienced Medical Laboratory Scientist with an Immunology specialty to join our dynamic and growing team. We are looking for an individual who is committed to providing quality and compassionate care to our patients and has a passion for the Immunology field. The successful candidate must have the necessary qualifications to excel in this role. To succeed in this role, you must have a Bachelor's degree in a Medical Laboratory Science related field, along with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting. You must also have a current certification from the American Society of Clinical Pathologists, or equivalent, and a strong working knowledge of both Immunology and Laboratory Information Systems. Additionally, you must have the ability to communicate effectively with other healthcare providers, have excellent problem-solving skills, and be able to work independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities:
- Perform laboratory tests, such as blood counts, to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases.
- Monitor and maintain laboratory equipment, recording any malfunctions and making necessary repairs.
- Assist in the development, validation, and implementation of new laboratory procedures.
- Analyze and interpret test results, reporting results to other healthcare providers.
- Maintain accurate records of patient samples, results, and laboratory procedures.
- Assist in the training of new laboratory personnel and students.
- Utilize laboratory safety procedures and protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
- Provide knowledgeable and compassionate care to patients.
- Remain up-to-date with the latest advancements in the Immunology field.
Bachelor's Degree In Medical Laboratory Science
Immunology Or A Related Field
Certified Medical Laboratory Scientist (Mls) Or Medical Technologist (Mt) License
Experience Working In A Clinical Laboratory Environment
Knowledge Of Laboratory Safety Regulations And Procedures
Experience With Immunological Testing And Laboratory Equipment
