Welcome to the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab Pain Management Center at Northwestern University! We are currently seeking a highly qualified Medical Director to join our team and lead our cutting-edge pain management program. As the Medical Director, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care to patients suffering from chronic pain, while also shaping the future of pain management through research and innovation.   1. Oversee and lead the pain management program at the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab, setting the overall direction and vision for the program.
  2. Provide exceptional medical care to patients suffering from chronic pain, utilizing the latest research and techniques in pain management.
  3. Develop and implement treatment plans for patients, taking into consideration their individual needs and circumstances.
  4. Conduct thorough evaluations and assessments of patients to determine the most effective course of treatment.
  5. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care and support to patients.
  6. Stay up-to-date on the latest advancements and research in pain management, and incorporate them into the program.
  7. Lead and participate in research initiatives related to pain management, with the goal of improving patient outcomes and advancing the field.
  8. Mentor and supervise medical staff, providing guidance and support in their roles.
  9. Develop and maintain relationships with other healthcare organizations and professionals to promote the pain management program and foster collaboration.
  10. Adhere to all ethical and legal standards in the practice of medicine and pain management.
  11. Communicate effectively with patients and their families, providing education and support throughout the treatment process.
  12. Attend conferences, seminars, and workshops to continuously expand knowledge and skills in pain management.
  13. Monitor and analyze program performance, making adjustments and improvements as needed.
  14. Uphold the values and mission of the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab and Northwestern University in all aspects of the role.
  15. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care and program activities.
  16. Foster a positive and inclusive work environment, promoting teamwork and collaboration among staff.
  17. Participate in administrative tasks, such as budget planning and resource allocation, to support the success of the pain management program.

Job Qualifications
  • Medical Degree (Md Or Do) From An Accredited Institution

  • Board Certification In Pain Medicine Or Related Specialty

  • Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Clinical Practice, Preferably In A Pain Management Setting

  • Strong Leadership Skills And Experience Managing A Team Of Physicians And Healthcare Professionals

  • Knowledge And Understanding Of Current Pain Management Treatments, Guidelines, And Regulations.
