  1. Lead and manage the Oncologic Bioinformatics team at Northwestern University, setting clear goals and providing guidance to team members.
  2. Utilize bioinformatics techniques to analyze and interpret large-scale genomic data, with a focus on cancer research and treatment.
  3. Collaborate with researchers and clinicians to develop and implement bioinformatics strategies for personalized cancer therapies.
  4. Stay updated on the latest advancements and developments in the field of bioinformatics and oncology, and apply this knowledge to improve research and treatment methods.
  5. Communicate complex bioinformatics concepts and findings to a variety of audiences, including researchers, clinicians, and non-technical stakeholders.
  6. Oversee the collection, organization, and management of large datasets, ensuring accuracy and compliance with ethical and legal standards.
  7. Develop and maintain partnerships and collaborations with other research institutions and organizations to advance cancer research.
  8. Monitor and analyze data quality and troubleshoot any issues that arise during the research process.
  9. Mentor and train junior bioinformatics staff, fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment.
  10. Act as a representative of Northwestern University and the Oncologic Bioinformatics team at conferences, symposiums, and other events.
  11. Develop and manage budgets for bioinformatics research projects and initiatives.
  12. Stay informed on grant opportunities and assist in the preparation and submission of grant proposals to secure funding for research projects.
  13. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, policies, and protocols related to bioinformatics research.
  14. Continuously evaluate and improve bioinformatics processes and workflows to increase efficiency and effectiveness.

Job Qualifications
  • Advanced Degree In Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience Working In Bioinformatics, With A Focus On Oncology Research.

  • Extensive Knowledge Of Cancer Genomics, Proteomics, And Other High-Throughput Data Analysis Techniques.

  • Proficiency In Programming Languages Commonly Used In Bioinformatics, Such As R, Python, And Perl.

  • Strong Leadership Skills And Experience Managing A Team Of Bioinformaticians In A Research Environment.
