
Assistant Director of Community Standards

- Enforce Community Standards: The Assistant Director of Community Standards will be responsible for upholding and enforcing the community standards set by Northwestern University. This includes investigating and addressing any violations of these standards.
- Promote a Safe and Inclusive Community: This role requires the individual to be passionate about creating a safe and inclusive environment for students. The Assistant Director will develop and implement programs and initiatives to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion within the campus community.
- Student Conduct: The individual in this role will have experience in student conduct and will be responsible for overseeing the student conduct process. This includes conducting hearings, making decisions on appropriate sanctions, and ensuring due process for all students involved.
- Leadership: The Assistant Director will possess strong leadership skills and will be responsible for leading a team of student conduct officers. They will provide guidance, training, and support to ensure consistent and fair enforcement of community standards.
- Student Support: The Assistant Director will serve as a resource for students who are facing conduct issues. They will provide guidance and support to help students understand and comply with community standards, and connect them with appropriate resources if needed.
- Collaborate with Campus Partners: This position will require collaboration with various campus partners, including residence life, student affairs, and academic departments. The Assistant Director will work closely with these departments to ensure a cohesive approach to promoting a positive campus culture.
- Maintain Records and Data: The individual in this role will be responsible for maintaining accurate records and data related to student conduct cases. This includes documenting case details, sanctions, and outcomes.
- Training and Education: The Assistant Director will be responsible for developing and implementing training and educational programs for students, faculty, and staff on community standards, policies, and procedures.
- Stay Current on Best Practices: This role requires the individual to stay current on best practices and trends in student conduct and community standards. They will attend conferences, workshops, and training sessions to continuously improve and enhance their knowledge and
Bachelor's Degree In Higher Education, Student Affairs, Or A Related Field.
Minimum Of 2-3 Years Of Experience In A Student Conduct Or Community Standards Role At A College Or University.
Strong Knowledge And Understanding Of Student Development Theory And Best Practices In Community Standards And Conduct.
Excellent Communication And Conflict Resolution Skills, With The Ability To Work Effectively With Diverse Student Populations.
Demonstrated Experience In Developing And Implementing Educational Programs And Initiatives Related To Community Standards And Conduct.
