
Animal Care Technician

- Provide daily care and maintenance for research animals, including feeding, watering, and monitoring their health and behavior.
- Follow strict protocols and procedures for animal handling, housing, and husbandry to ensure the well-being and safety of the animals.
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinarians and researchers.
- Monitor and record animal behavior, health, and any changes or abnormalities, and report any concerns to the appropriate personnel.
- Maintain accurate records of animal care, including feeding, health status, and environmental conditions.
- Ensure the cleanliness and sanitation of animal housing and research areas.
- Assist with the handling and restraint of animals for research procedures.
- Collaborate with researchers to support their projects and provide necessary animal care and handling.
- Adhere to all ethical and regulatory guidelines for animal research.
- Attend and participate in training and educational programs related to animal care and welfare.
- Communicate effectively with team members and researchers regarding animal care and any issues or concerns.
- Continuously seek opportunities to improve and enhance animal care procedures and protocols.

Bachelor's Degree In Animal Science, Veterinary Technology, Or A Related Field.
Previous Experience Working With Animals In A Laboratory Or Research Setting.
Knowledge Of Animal Behavior, Anatomy, And Husbandry Techniques.
Familiarity With Relevant Regulations And Guidelines For Animal Care, Such As Those Set By The Usda And Nih.
Strong Communication And Organizational Skills, With The Ability To Work Effectively In A Team Environment.
