
Laboratory Assistant - Phlebotomist
At Northwestern Medical Center, we are looking for a Laboratory Assistant - Phlebotomist who is passionate about providing quality patient care. The successful candidate will be an energetic team-player who is capable of multi-tasking and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment. The qualified individual must have a High School diploma or equivalent, as well as Phlebotomy certification or equivalent. They should have a minimum of one year of experience working in a laboratory setting, be organized and detail-oriented, and be able to effectively communicate with patients and staff. This individual must also have current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS). The Laboratory Assistant - Phlebotomist will be responsible for collecting, transporting, and processing of laboratory specimens, as well as maintaining the laboratory and equipment. The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate excellent customer service skills and have a strong commitment to patient care.
Responsibilities: • Collect, transport, and process laboratory specimens • Maintain laboratory and equipment • Ensure accuracy of laboratory results • Demonstrate excellent customer service and patient care • Follow safety protocols • Accurately document and record laboratory results • Properly label and store all specimens • Communicate effectively with patients and staff • Maintain a clean and organized work environment • Adhere to all applicable regulations and policies
