
Health Information Technician
Northwestern Medical Center is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Health Information Technician to join our team. This role is open to applicants who have demonstrated experience and expertise in healthcare data and information systems. As a part of the Northwestern Medical Center team, you will be responsible for maintaining patient medical records and ensuring the accuracy and security of our patient health information. The ideal candidate is highly organized, has a passion for healthcare, and is an excellent communicator.The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Technology or related field; strong technical and computer skills; knowledge of HIPAA and other healthcare regulations; and the ability to work well with diverse groups of people. Additionally, this individual should have excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, as well as the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Responsibilities:
- Collect and organize patient medical records and data, ensuring accuracy and security of data.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues or discrepancies regarding patient records.
- Monitor compliance with HIPAA and other healthcare regulations.
- Maintain and update patient medical records in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.
- Assist other staff with any questions or inquires about patient medical records.
- Provide quality customer service, ensuring patients and families are informed of their medical records.
- Create and manage reports and documents related to patient medical records.
- Analyze healthcare data and information systems, making recommendations for improvements as necessary.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure data accuracy and security.
- Monitor and review all patient records for accuracy and completeness.
