- Provide companionship and emotional support to patients and their families during their stay at the medical center.
- Assist with daily tasks such as feeding, grooming, and mobility for patients who may have difficulty performing these tasks independently.
- Monitor and report any changes in patients' physical or emotional well-being to the appropriate medical staff.
- Work closely with other care team members to ensure patients receive high-quality, holistic care.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and medical staff to ensure all care needs and preferences are met.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment for patients, including assisting with maintaining patient rooms and common areas.
- Demonstrate a compassionate and empathetic approach to care, understanding the unique needs and challenges of each patient.
- Adhere to all policies and procedures of the medical center, including maintaining patient confidentiality.
- Continuously strive to provide exceptional care and make a positive impact on the lives of patients and their families.
- Attend regular training and education sessions to improve skills and knowledge of patient care.
- Participate in team meetings and discussions to provide input and suggestions for improving patient care.
- Display professionalism and a positive attitude at all times, promoting a welcoming and supportive environment for patients and their families.
- Collaborate with community resources and support systems to assist patients with transitioning back to their homes or other care facilities.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient care and observations.

High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Educational Requirement For A Care Companion Job At Northwestern Medical Center Is A High School Diploma Or Equivalent. This Demonstrates A Basic Level Of Education And Ability To Follow Instructions.
Experience In Caregiving Or Related Field: Previous Experience In Caregiving Or A Related Field Is Highly Desired For A Care Companion Job At Northwestern Medical Center. This Could Include Experience In A Home Health Aide, Nursing Assistant, Or Companion Caregiver Role.
Cpr And First Aid Certification: Care Companions At Northwestern Medical Center May Be Required To Provide Emergency Medical Assistance In Certain Situations. Therefore, Having Current Cpr And First Aid Certification Is Essential.
