  1. Develop and implement advanced metrology and characterization techniques to support technology and product development.
  2. Conduct thorough analysis of measurement data and provide recommendations for process improvements.
  3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and timely characterization of products.
  4. Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in metrology and characterization to continuously improve processes.
  5. Train and mentor junior engineers on metrology and characterization techniques.
  6. Work closely with design and manufacturing teams to ensure alignment of metrology and characterization processes.
  7. Develop and maintain documentation and standard operating procedures for metrology and characterization processes.
  8. Troubleshoot and provide solutions to metrology and characterization issues.
  9. Ensure compliance with company and industry standards and regulations.
  10. Continuously evaluate and optimize metrology and characterization methods to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  11. Lead and/or participate in cross-functional projects related to metrology and characterization.
  12. Communicate effectively with team members, management, and external stakeholders on metrology and characterization updates and progress.
  13. Take ownership of metrology and characterization equipment and ensure proper maintenance and calibration.
  14. Collaborate with external partners and vendors to source necessary materials and equipment for metrology and characterization processes.

Job Qualifications
  • Extensive Experience In Metrology And Characterization Techniques: A Senior Principal Metrology Characterization Engineer At Northrop Grumman Should Have A Strong Background And Expertise In A Variety Of Metrology Techniques Such As Optical, Electrical, And Mechanical Measurements. They Should Also Be Knowledgeable About Different Characterization Methods To Analyze And Interpret Data.

  • Proficient In Equipment And Software: The Ideal Candidate Should Be Well-Versed In Operating And Maintaining A Wide Range Of Metrology Equipment, Including But Not Limited To Interferometers, Profilometers, And Scanning Electron Microscopes. They Should Also Have Experience With Data Analysis Software And Programming Languages Such As Python, Matlab, Or Labview.

  • Strong Understanding Of Industry Standards And Regulations: As A Senior Principal Metrology Characterization Engineer, The Candidate Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Industry Standards And Regulations Related To Metrology And Characterization. They Should Be Able To Ensure Compliance With These Standards In All Aspects Of Their Work.

  • Leadership And Project Management Skills: This Role Requires The Candidate To Lead A Team Of Engineers And Technicians, So Strong Leadership Skills Are Essential. They Should Also Have Experience In Project Management, Including Planning, Organizing, And Executing Projects To Meet Timelines And Budget Requirements.
