  1. Develop and implement testing strategies for new and existing technologies.
  2. Design and conduct experiments to evaluate the performance and functionality of systems.
  3. Analyze and interpret test data to identify potential issues and areas for improvement.
  4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that testing processes align with project goals and objectives.
  5. Provide technical expertise and support to project teams during all phases of test development.
  6. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to testing procedures and equipment.
  7. Stay up-to-date with industry advancements and incorporate new technologies into testing processes.
  8. Develop and maintain documentation, including test plans, procedures, and reports.
  9. Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards in all testing activities.
  10. Mentor and train junior team members on testing procedures and best practices.
  11. Communicate test results and recommendations to project stakeholders and management.
  12. Continuously identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of testing.
  13. Collaborate with external partners and vendors to coordinate testing activities and resolve any issues.
  14. Participate in project meetings and provide updates on testing progress and results.
  15. Adhere to company policies and procedures, including those related to security and confidentiality.

Job Qualifications
  • Advanced Degree In Physics: A Principal Test Development Physicist At Northrop Grumman Must Have A Minimum Of A Master's Degree In Physics, With A Preference For Candidates With A Phd. This Advanced Degree Demonstrates A Strong Understanding Of Fundamental Physics Principles And The Ability To Apply Them In A Professional Setting.

  • Experience In Test Development: Candidates For This Role Must Have A Proven Track Record Of Developing And Conducting Complex Tests In A Physics-Related Field. This Includes Designing Experiments, Analyzing Data, And Interpreting Results. Northrop Grumman Is Seeking Candidates Who Have A Deep Understanding Of Test Development Methodologies And Have The Ability To Innovate And Improve Upon Existing Processes.

  • Technical Leadership Skills: As A Principal Test Development Physicist, This Role Will Require The Ability To Lead And Mentor A Team Of Test Engineers And Technicians. Candidates Must Possess Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Collaborate With Cross-Functional Teams And Provide Technical Guidance And Direction.

  • Knowledge Of Industry Standards And Regulations: Northrop Grumman Operates In A Highly Regulated Industry, And The Principal Test Development Physicist Must Be Well-Versed In Industry Standards And Regulations Related To Test Development. This Includes Knowledge Of Relevant Safety Protocols, Quality Requirements, And Compliance Standards.

  • Project Management Experience: The Principal Test Development Physicist Will Be Responsible For Managing Multiple Projects Simultaneously, So Strong Project Management Skills Are A Must. Candidates Must Be Able To Prioritize Tasks, Set Timelines, And Ensure That Projects Are Completed On Time And Within Budget. Experience With Project Management Tools And Techniques Is Highly Desirable.
