Develop and implement safety engineering processes and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Conduct safety assessments and risk analyses for complex systems and products, identifying potential hazards and developing mitigation strategies.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate safety requirements into the design, development, testing, and production of systems.
Lead and participate in design reviews, providing safety expertise and guidance to engineers and project managers.
Develop and maintain safety documentation, including hazard analyses, safety plans, and safety case reports.
Communicate safety requirements and updates to stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, and internal team members.
Stay current with industry trends and advancements in safety engineering to drive continuous improvement in processes and practices.
Mentor and train junior safety engineers, promoting a culture of safety awareness and best practices within the team.
Investigate and analyze safety incidents or accidents, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
Act as a liaison with regulatory agencies and participate in audits and inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards.

Job Qualifications

Excellent Communication And Leadership Skills, With The Ability To Collaborate With Cross-Functional Teams And Present Complex Technical Information To Stakeholders.
Bachelor's Degree In Engineering Or A Related Field, With A Focus On Systems Safety Or Risk Management.
Minimum Of 7 Years Of Experience In Systems Safety Engineering, Preferably In The Defense Industry.
Knowledge And Experience With Safety Standards And Regulations, Such As Mil-Std-882, Do-178B/C, And Do-254.
Strong Understanding Of System Engineering Processes And Their Application To Safety Analysis And Mitigation.
