- Develop and implement safety engineering processes and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Conduct safety assessments and risk analyses for complex systems and products, identifying potential hazards and developing mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate safety requirements into the design, development, testing, and production of systems.
- Lead and participate in design reviews, providing safety expertise and guidance to engineers and project managers.
- Develop and maintain safety documentation, including hazard analyses, safety plans, and safety case reports.
- Communicate safety requirements and updates to stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, and internal team members.
- Stay current with industry trends and advancements in safety engineering to drive continuous improvement in processes and practices.
- Mentor and train junior safety engineers, promoting a culture of safety awareness and best practices within the team.
- Investigate and analyze safety incidents or accidents, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
- Act as a liaison with regulatory agencies and participate in audits and inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards.
Excellent Communication And Leadership Skills, With The Ability To Collaborate With Cross-Functional Teams And Present Complex Technical Information To Stakeholders.
Bachelor's Degree In Engineering Or A Related Field, With A Focus On Systems Safety Or Risk Management.
Minimum Of 7 Years Of Experience In Systems Safety Engineering, Preferably In The Defense Industry.
Knowledge And Experience With Safety Standards And Regulations, Such As Mil-Std-882, Do-178B/C, And Do-254.
Strong Understanding Of System Engineering Processes And Their Application To Safety Analysis And Mitigation.
