Perform nondestructive testing on various components and systems using advanced methods such as ultrasonic, radiographic, and magnetic particle testing.
Develop and implement testing procedures and techniques to ensure the highest level of quality and accuracy in our products and systems.
Analyze and interpret test results to identify any defects or anomalies, and provide recommendations for corrective actions.
Collaborate with design and engineering teams to ensure that NDT requirements are incorporated into product designs.
Monitor and maintain testing equipment and ensure compliance with safety standards.
Document and report all testing activities and results accurately and in a timely manner.
Stay up-to-date with industry advancements and technological developments in the field of nondestructive testing, and make recommendations for their implementation within the company.
Train and mentor junior NDT technicians to ensure they are following proper procedures and producing accurate results.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance NDT processes and procedures.
Adhere to all company policies and procedures, as well as safety regulations, to maintain a safe and productive work environment.

Job Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree In Engineering: A Ndt Engineer At Northrop Grumman Should Possess A Minimum Of Bachelor's Degree In Mechanical, Electrical, Or Aerospace Engineering. This Degree Provides A Strong Foundation In Mathematics, Physics, And Engineering Principles.
Ndt Certifications: A Ndt Engineer Should Have Relevant Certifications In Nondestructive Testing Methods Such As Ultrasonic Testing, Radiographic Testing, Magnetic Particle Testing, Liquid Penetrant Testing, And Visual Inspection. These Certifications Demonstrate A Thorough Understanding Of Ndt Principles And Techniques.
Experience With Ndt Equipment: Northrop Grumman Requires A Ndt Engineer To Have Hands-On Experience With Various Ndt Equipment And Tools. This Includes Proficiency In Operating And Interpreting Results From Advanced Equipment Such As Ultrasonic Phased Array Systems And Eddy Current Testing Equipment.
Knowledge Of Industry Standards: A Ndt Engineer Should Have A Strong Knowledge Of Industry Standards And Codes Such As Asnt, Astm, And Iso. These Standards Provide Guidelines For Conducting Ndt Procedures And Ensure Compliance With Safety And Quality Regulations.
Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills: Northrop Grumman Seeks Ndt Engineers With Strong Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills To Analyze Ndt Data And Identify Potential Defects Or Anomalies In Materials. These Skills Are Crucial In Determining The Structural Integrity And Safety Of Components And Systems.
