Conduct non-destructive testing (NDT) on critical aerospace and defense systems to ensure safety and reliability.
Utilize a variety of non-destructive testing techniques, such as ultrasonic, radiographic, and magnetic particle testing.
Follow established protocols and procedures to perform accurate and reliable NDT inspections.
Maintain and calibrate NDT equipment to ensure accurate and consistent results.
Document and report findings from NDT inspections in a timely and organized manner.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve any quality issues or concerns.
Continuously improve NDT processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Adhere to strict safety protocols and regulations while performing NDT inspections.
Communicate effectively with team members, managers, and customers to provide updates and reports on NDT inspections.
Stay updated on industry advancements and changes in NDT techniques and equipment.
Participate in training and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge in NDT.
Maintain a high level of attention to detail and accuracy in all NDT inspections.
Uphold the company's standards and values of quality and excellence in all NDT work.
Follow all company policies and procedures related to NDT and quality assurance.
Represent the company in a professional manner and maintain positive relationships with clients and stakeholders.

Job Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree In Engineering Or A Related Field: A Strong Educational Background In Engineering Or A Related Field Is Essential For A Non-Destructive Test Technician At Northrop Grumman. This Provides The Necessary Technical Knowledge And Understanding Of Materials And Processes Required For The Role.
Certification In Non-Destructive Testing (Ndt): Northrop Grumman Typically Requires Candidates To Possess Certification In At Least Two Methods Of Ndt, Such As Ultrasonic Testing, Radiographic Testing, Or Eddy Current Testing. This Demonstrates A High Level Of Proficiency In The Field And Ensures That The Technician Is Capable Of Performing Accurate And Reliable Tests.
Experience In A Manufacturing Or Testing Environment: Previous Experience In A Manufacturing Or Testing Environment, Particularly In The Aerospace Or Defense Industry, Is Highly Desirable For This Role. This Demonstrates An Understanding Of Complex Procedures And Safety Protocols, As Well As The Ability To Work With Precision And Attention To Detail.
Strong Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills: Non-Destructive Test Technicians At Northrop Grumman Must Possess Strong Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills To Interpret Test Results And Identify Potential Defects Or Flaws In Materials. This Involves The Ability To Analyze Data And Make Sound Decisions Based On Technical Knowledge And Experience.
Ability To Work In A Team And Communicate Effectively: As Part Of A Larger Team, Non-Destructive Test Technicians Must Be Able To Work Collaboratively With Others And Communicate Effectively. This Includes Providing Clear And Concise Reports On Test Results, As Well As Working Closely With Engineers And Other Technicians To Troubleshoot And Solve Problems.
