  1. Develop and teach engaging courses in Creative Writing (Poetry) at the undergraduate and graduate levels, utilizing a variety of instructional methods and materials.
  2. Mentor and advise students, providing guidance and support in their creative writing and academic pursuits.
  3. Conduct research and publish original creative work in the field of poetry, contributing to the university's academic and creative reputation.
  4. Participate in departmental and university committees and meetings, collaborating with colleagues to enhance the department's curriculum and programs.
  5. Foster a welcoming and inclusive learning environment that supports students from diverse backgrounds and encourages creativity, critical thinking, and self-expression.
  6. Keep up-to-date with current trends and developments in the field of creative writing, incorporating them into course content and activities.
  7. Participate in community engagement activities, such as literary events, workshops, and outreach programs, to promote the university's commitment to community service and engagement.
  8. Evaluate student progress and provide timely and constructive feedback on their writing, helping them develop their skills and reach their full potential.
  9. Assist in curriculum development and assessment, ensuring that the Creative Writing program meets the university's academic standards and goals.
  10. Serve as an ambassador for the university, promoting its values and mission both within and outside of the academic community.
  11. Maintain a strong network within the literary community, building relationships with other poets, writers, and literary organizations to enhance opportunities for students and the university.

Job Qualifications
  • A Phd In English Literature Or Creative Writing With A Specialization In Poetry.

  • A Strong Publication Record In Reputable Literary Journals And/Or Published Poetry Collections.

  • Proven Excellence In Teaching At The Undergraduate And Graduate Level, With A Minimum Of 5 Years Teaching Experience.

  • Demonstrated Ability To Mentor And Advise Students In Their Creative Writing Pursuits, Including The Development Of Student Poetry Collections.

  • Active Engagement In The Literary Community, Such As Organizing Poetry Readings, Participating In Conferences And Literary Events, And Serving As A Reviewer For Literary Publications.
