1. Develop and implement a strategic vision for the business department in line with the overall goals and mission of Northern State University.
2. Lead and manage faculty and staff, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure academic excellence and student success.
3. Oversee curriculum development and review, ensuring that programs are relevant, up-to-date, and meet industry standards.
4. Foster a collaborative and inclusive environment that promotes diversity and inclusivity within the business department.
5. Develop and maintain partnerships with local and national businesses to enhance learning opportunities and promote job placement for students.
6. Monitor and analyze enrollment and retention data to make data-driven decisions and implement strategies to increase student enrollment and retention.
7. Oversee the budget for the business department, ensuring responsible and effective use of resources.
8. Stay current with industry trends and advancements in the field of business to inform curriculum development and program offerings.
9. Represent the business department and Northern State University at conferences, events, and meetings to promote the university and its programs.
10. Collaborate with other deans and university leadership to foster a cohesive and student-centered learning community.
11. Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the business department.
12. Ensure compliance with all university policies, procedures, and regulations.
13. Evaluate faculty and staff performance and provide regular feedback and professional development opportunities.
14. Serve as a mentor and advocate for students, providing support and guidance to help them achieve their academic and career goals.
15. Other duties as assigned by the university administration.
