Gorgeous drive, beautiful waterfall stops, lots of snow, and the huckleberry ice cream at Timberline Lodge was worth the trip.– Wednesday, 8/3, we moved to the Columbia Gorge Hotel. I can’t say enough about this place — it was incredible. We had a room overlooking the river, and it was the most relaxing place I’ve ever been. We spent most of our time lounging on the grounds, reading books, and watching the boats and windsurfers go by.– Thursday, 8/4, we took a “cruise” on the Columbia Gorge Sternwheeler.
