
Surgical Technician - Perioperative Services - Days

As a Surgical Technician, you will play a critical role in the operating room, working alongside surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients. - Prepare and maintain surgical equipment, instruments, and supplies for procedures.
- Assist surgical team during procedures by passing instruments, holding retractors, and anticipating needs.
- Maintain a sterile and safe environment in the operating room.
- Communicate effectively with surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure efficient and effective teamwork.
- Monitor and document patient vital signs and provide appropriate assistance and support during surgeries.
- Follow all hospital and departmental policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
- Continuously update knowledge and skills through ongoing training and education.
- Keep accurate records of surgical procedures, supplies used, and patient information.
- Troubleshoot and report any equipment or supply issues to the appropriate personnel.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times with patients, their families, and other healthcare professionals.
- Adhere to infection control protocols and assist in maintaining a clean and organized operating room.
- Provide emotional and physical support to patients and their families before, during, and after surgeries.
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and participate in team meetings and discussions.
- Collaborate with other members of the perioperative team to ensure optimal patient care.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisors.
Completion Of An Accredited Surgical Technician Program: Candidates For This Position Must Have Completed An Accredited Program In Surgical Technology, Which Typically Includes Coursework In Anatomy And Physiology, Surgical Procedures, And Sterile Techniques.
Certification As A Surgical Technician: The Ideal Candidate Should Hold Current Certification As A Certified Surgical Technologist (Cst) Or A Tech In Surgery - Certified (Ts-C) From The National Board Of Surgical Technology And Surgical Assisting (Nbstsa).
Experience In Perioperative Services: Preference Will Be Given To Candidates With Previous Experience Working In A Perioperative Setting, Such As In An Operating Room Or Ambulatory Surgery Center.
Strong Knowledge Of Surgical Procedures And Equipment: Candidates Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Different Surgical Procedures, Including The Use Of Various Surgical Instruments And Equipment.
Excellent Communication And Teamwork Skills: As A Member Of The Perioperative Team, The Surgical Technician Must Be Able To Effectively Communicate With Surgeons, Nurses, And Other Team Members To Ensure A Seamless And Safe Surgical Experience For The Patient. Strong Teamwork Skills Are Also Essential For This Role.
