  1. Provide exceptional care to patients and their families in accordance with the mission of NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital.
  2. Perform nursing assessments and develop individualized care plans for patients with mental health challenges.
  3. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
  4. Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans as needed.
  5. Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure holistic and coordinated patient care.
  6. Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment plans, and available resources.
  7. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care in electronic medical records.
  8. Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations.
  9. Create a welcoming and supportive environment for patients, their families, and colleagues.
  10. Participate in ongoing professional development and training to continuously improve nursing skills and knowledge.
  11. Serve as a resource and mentor to less experienced nurses.
  12. Maintain confidentiality and ethical standards in all interactions with patients and their families.
  13. Continuously assess and improve the quality of patient care through participation in quality improvement initiatives.
  14. Demonstrate empathy and compassion towards patients and their families, while maintaining professional boundaries.
  15. Adhere to infection control protocols and ensure a safe and clean environment for patients and staff.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Nursing Or Related Field From An Accredited Institution: This Qualification Ensures That The Staff Nurse Has A Solid Educational Foundation In Nursing And Is Equipped With The Necessary Knowledge And Skills To Provide Quality Care To Patients.

  • Valid Nursing License In The State Of New York: A Valid Nursing License Is A Must-Have For Any Nursing Role, As It Ensures That The Nurse Has Met The State's Requirements For Practicing Nursing And Is Legally Allowed To Provide Patient Care.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working In A Psychiatric Or Behavioral Health Setting: This Qualification Demonstrates The Nurse's Specialized Knowledge And Experience In Caring For Patients With Mental Health Issues, Making Them A Valuable Asset To The Team.

  • Bls And/Or Acls Certification: These Certifications Indicate That The Nurse Is Trained In Basic And Advanced Life Support Techniques, Which Are Essential In Emergency Situations That May Arise In A Psychiatric Or Behavioral Health Setting.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: Working In A Psychiatric Or Behavioral Health Setting Requires Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Interact With Patients, Their Families, And Other Healthcare Professionals. This Qualification Is Crucial In Providing Compassionate And Patient-Centered Care.
