
Laboratory Technologist - Lab Service Core - Nights

- Conduct laboratory tests: Perform a variety of laboratory tests using specialized equipment and techniques in accordance with established protocols and procedures.
- Analyze test results: Utilize critical thinking skills to analyze test results and identify any abnormalities or discrepancies, taking appropriate action when necessary.
- Assist in diagnosis and treatment: Collaborate with healthcare professionals to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases by providing accurate and timely laboratory test results.
- Maintain equipment: Ensure that all laboratory equipment is properly maintained, calibrated, and functioning correctly to ensure accurate test results.
- Record and report data: Maintain accurate and detailed records of all tests performed and report results in a timely manner, following established protocols.
- Adhere to safety protocols: Follow all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and others.
- Stay up-to-date with industry developments: Continuously stay informed about new developments and innovations in the field of laboratory technology to enhance knowledge and skills.
- Collaborate with team members: Work closely with other laboratory technologists and healthcare professionals to ensure efficient workflow and collaborate on complex cases.
- Perform quality control: Conduct regular quality control procedures to ensure accuracy and precision of test results.
- Maintain cleanliness: Keep the laboratory clean and organized to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
- Train new employees: Assist in training new laboratory technologists and provide guidance and support as needed.
- Adhere to hospital policies: Follow all hospital policies and procedures, including HIPAA regulations, to maintain patient confidentiality and privacy.
- Participate in professional development: Attend conferences, workshops, and training sessions to stay updated on industry developments and enhance knowledge and skills.
- Support patient care: Work with a sense of urgency to provide accurate and timely results that directly impact patient care and treatment decisions.
- Maintain professionalism: Represent the hospital in a professional and ethical manner, fostering a positive and caring environment for patients and colleagues.
Bachelor's Degree In Medical Laboratory Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Or A Related Field.
Current Certification As A Medical Laboratory Scientist (Mls) Or Medical Technologist (Mt) From A Nationally Recognized Accrediting Agency (E.g. Ascp, Amt, Aab).
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working In A Clinical Laboratory Setting, Preferably In A High-Volume Hospital Environment.
Strong Knowledge Of Laboratory Procedures, Instrumentation, And Quality Control Processes.
Ability To Work Independently And Collaboratively In A Fast-Paced, High-Pressure Environment, With Excellent Attention To Detail And Problem-Solving Skills.
