- Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications to produce accurate and precise parts.
- Troubleshoot and problem-solve machine malfunctions to ensure efficient and safe operation.
- Collaborate with faculty and students to understand their research and educational needs and provide appropriate machining solutions.
- Communicate effectively with team members to ensure timely completion of projects.
- Maintain an organized and clean work environment in the machine shop.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while operating machines.
- Order and maintain inventory of necessary supplies and tools.
- Train and mentor students and other team members on proper machine operation and safety procedures.
- Continuously improve and update machining techniques and processes to increase efficiency and accuracy.
- Ensure all work is completed to the highest quality standards and meets project requirements.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends and advancements in machining technology.
- Assist in the design and fabrication of custom parts and tools as needed.
- Collaborate with external vendors and contractors to outsource machining services when necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of machine usage, maintenance, and repairs.
Bachelor's Degree In Mechanical Engineering Or A Related Field.
Minimum Of 3 Years Of Experience Operating And Programming Cnc Machines.
Proficiency In Using Cad/Cam Software For Designing And Programming Parts.
Strong Knowledge Of Machining Processes, Materials, And Tools.
Ability To Read And Interpret Technical Drawings And Blueprints.
