- Operate and maintain the central plant equipment, including boilers, chillers, pumps, and generators.
- Monitor and control the central plant systems to ensure the efficient and reliable delivery of heating, cooling, and electricity throughout the campus.
- Conduct regular inspections, testing, and maintenance of all central plant equipment to identify and address any potential issues or malfunctions.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment malfunctions and work to resolve them in a timely manner.
- Maintain accurate records of equipment performance, maintenance activities, and energy usage.
- Coordinate with other members of the facilities team to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the central plant.
- Train and supervise other operators and technicians in the operation and maintenance of the central plant.
- Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices in central plant operations.
- Comply with all safety regulations and procedures while operating the central plant equipment.
- Provide excellent customer service to all members of the university community and respond promptly to any service requests or emergencies.
- Communicate effectively with other departments and university stakeholders to coordinate operations and maintenance activities.
- Assist in the development and implementation of energy conservation and sustainability initiatives for the central plant.
- Make recommendations for equipment upgrades or replacements to improve the efficiency and reliability of the central plant.
- Keep inventory of spare parts and supplies and ensure they are properly maintained and stocked.
- Adhere to all university policies and procedures related to central plant operations.
Bachelor's Degree In Mechanical Engineering Or Related Field.
Minimum Of 3 Years Of Experience Operating And Maintaining Central Plant Equipment, Such As Chillers, Boilers, Pumps, And Hvac Systems.
Strong Knowledge Of Building Automation Systems And Ability To Troubleshoot And Make Adjustments As Needed.
Experience With Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (Cmms) And Ability To Generate Work Orders And Maintain Accurate Records.
Understanding Of Safety Protocols And Procedures For Working With Potentially Hazardous Equipment And Chemicals.
