As the Director, you will oversee all aspects of academic advising and support services for our diverse student population.   1. Develop and implement strategic plans and initiatives for academic advising and support services to enhance student success and retention.
  2. Oversee and manage a team of academic advisors and support staff, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance evaluations.
  3. Collaborate with academic departments and faculty to ensure alignment between academic policies and program requirements.
  4. Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of all academic policies, procedures, and requirements, and communicate them effectively to students, faculty, and staff.
  5. Evaluate and improve current academic advising practices and procedures, utilizing data and feedback to make informed decisions.
  6. Coordinate and lead training and professional development opportunities for academic advisors and support staff.
  7. Serve as a resource for students, providing guidance and support in academic planning, course selection, and other academic concerns.
  8. Collaborate with other departments and offices, such as Student Affairs and Enrollment Services, to provide a holistic approach to student support and success.
  9. Monitor academic progress and provide intervention and support for at-risk students.
  10. Develop and maintain relationships with external organizations and partners to provide additional resources and opportunities for students.
  11. Stay current on industry trends and best practices in academic advising and higher education, and incorporate them into the department's operations.
  12. Promote a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion within the department and across the university.
  13. Prepare and manage the department's budget, ensuring efficient and effective use of resources.
  14. Represent the university at conferences, events, and meetings related to academic advising and higher education.
  15. Support the university's mission and values, and actively contribute to the overall success of NYU.

Job Qualifications
  • Master's Degree In Higher Education Administration, Counseling, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 7 Years Of Experience In Academic Advising And/Or Academic Affairs, Preferably In A Higher Education Setting.

  • Knowledge Of Academic Policies And Procedures, As Well As Best Practices In Academic Advising And Curriculum Development.

  • Strong Leadership And Management Skills, Including Experience Supervising A Team Of Advisors And Collaborating With Faculty And Other University Stakeholders.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Work Effectively With Diverse Populations Of Students, Faculty, And Staff.
