- Provide individual and group career counseling sessions to students, helping them identify their interests, strengths, and career goals.
- Conduct assessments and interpret results to assist students in making informed decisions about their academic and career paths.
- Develop and implement career development programs and workshops to support students in their career exploration and job search.
- Stay up-to-date on current job market trends and industry information to provide relevant and accurate career advice to students.
- Assist students in creating effective resumes, cover letters, and other job application materials.
- Collaborate with faculty and staff to integrate career development into the curriculum and academic advising.
- Build relationships and network with employers to facilitate job opportunities and internships for students.
- Utilize various career resources, such as online tools and databases, to aid students in their job search.
- Maintain accurate records of student interactions and progress in career development.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in career counseling and education.
- Serve as a liaison between students and alumni, connecting students with successful alumni for informational interviews and mentorship opportunities.
- Support diversity and inclusivity initiatives by providing career development services to underrepresented student groups.
- Collaborate with other university departments to plan and execute career fairs and other career-related events.
- Represent the university and the career development department at conferences, workshops, and other events related to career counseling and education.
- Uphold the university's mission and values in all interactions with students, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
Master's Degree In Counseling, Psychology, Or A Related Field From An Accredited Institution.
Minimum Of 3 Years Of Experience In Career Counseling Or Related Field, Preferably In A Higher Education Setting.
Knowledge Of Career Development Theories And Ability To Apply Them In Counseling Sessions With Students.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Work With A Diverse Student Population.
Familiarity With Career Assessment Tools And Ability To Interpret Results To Assist Students With Career Exploration And Decision-Making.
