- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Steinhardt Writing Center at New York University.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to the team of writing tutors.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure the smooth functioning of the Writing Center.
- Collaborate with faculty and staff to promote the Writing Center's services and resources.
- Work closely with students to understand their needs and provide tailored support.
- Conduct writing workshops and seminars to enhance students' writing skills.
- Evaluate and assess the effectiveness of the Writing Center's programs and services.
- Manage the budget and resources of the Writing Center.
- Recruit, train, and supervise writing tutors.
- Foster a positive and inclusive environment for students and staff.
- Stay updated on current trends and best practices in writing instruction and tutoring.
- Serve as a liaison between the Writing Center and other departments and organizations within the university.
- Represent the Writing Center at university events and conferences.
- Collaborate with other departments to develop and implement cross-disciplinary writing initiatives.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of the Writing Center's website and social media platforms.
- Handle any conflicts or issues that may arise within the Writing Center.
- Continuously seek opportunities for improvement and growth for the Writing Center.
- Collaborate with other university resources to provide comprehensive support for students.
- Serve as a role model and mentor for students and writing tutors.
- Uphold the values and mission of the Writing Center and New York University.
Excellent Written And Verbal Communication Skills
Master's Degree In English, Writing, Or A Related Field
Minimum Of 3 Years Experience In Writing Center Administration Or Tutoring
Strong Understanding Of Composition Theory And Best Practices In Writing Instruction
Ability To Manage A Team Of Tutors And Collaborate With Faculty Across Disciplines To Support Student Writing Development.
