  1. Oversee all administrative functions within the Department of Chemistry, ensuring efficient and effective operation of the department.
  2. Collaborate with the Director of Administration to develop and implement departmental policies and procedures.
  3. Manage and supervise administrative staff, providing guidance and support to ensure smooth and timely completion of tasks.
  4. Serve as a point of contact for faculty, staff, and students, addressing any administrative inquiries or concerns.
  5. Maintain and update departmental records and databases, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
  6. Develop and monitor departmental budget, including tracking expenses and identifying areas for cost savings.
  7. Coordinate and schedule departmental meetings, events, and presentations.
  8. Assist with the recruitment and onboarding process for new faculty and staff within the department.
  9. Support the Director of Administration in strategic planning and decision-making, providing data and analysis as needed.
  10. Collaborate with other departments and university offices to coordinate shared resources and services.
  11. Stay up-to-date on university policies and procedures, ensuring compliance within the department.
  12. Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills related to administration and chemistry.
  13. Attend departmental meetings and provide updates on administrative operations.
  14. Other duties as assigned by the Director of Administration.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Or Master's Degree In Chemistry, Business Administration, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience In A Leadership Or Management Role In An Academic Or Research Environment.

  • Strong Understanding Of Administrative Processes And Procedures, Particularly In The Field Of Chemistry.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Collaborate With Faculty, Staff, And Students.

  • Demonstrated Experience In Budget Management, Project Planning, And Data Analysis, With A Focus On Continuous Improvement And Efficiency.
