  1. Provide administrative support to the department, including but not limited to answering phone calls and emails, scheduling appointments, and maintaining calendars.
  2. Assist with the organization and coordination of department events, meetings, and workshops.
  3. Prepare and distribute departmental communications, such as memos, newsletters, and reports.
  4. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, databases, and filing systems.
  5. Process and track departmental expenses, reimbursements, and invoices.
  6. Collaborate with other administrative staff to ensure efficient and effective operations.
  7. Serve as a point of contact for faculty, staff, and students, providing excellent customer service and addressing inquiries and concerns in a timely manner.
  8. Monitor and order office supplies, equipment, and materials.
  9. Assist with the hiring and onboarding process for new departmental employees.
  10. Conduct research and gather data to support departmental projects and initiatives.
  11. Participate in departmental meetings and take minutes as needed.
  12. Adhere to university policies and procedures and maintain confidentiality in handling sensitive information.
  13. Continuously seek opportunities to improve processes and procedures within the department.
  14. Other duties as assigned by the department supervisor.

Job Qualifications
  • Education And Experience: A Bachelor's Degree In Business Administration, Communications, Or A Related Field, And At Least 2 Years Of Experience In Administrative Support Or Office Management Roles.

  • Communication Skills: Excellent Written And Verbal Communication Skills With The Ability To Effectively Communicate With Diverse Groups Of People, Including Students, Faculty, And Staff.

  • Organizational Skills: Strong Organizational Skills With The Ability To Prioritize Tasks, Manage Multiple Projects, And Meet Deadlines In A Fast-Paced Environment.

  • Technology Proficiency: Proficiency In Microsoft Office Suite, Database Management, And Other Relevant Software Programs. Familiarity With Nyu's Enterprise Systems (E.g. Peoplesync, Nyuhome) Is Preferred.

  • Customer Service Orientation: A Strong Commitment To Providing High-Quality Customer Service To All Stakeholders, Including Internal And External Clients. This Includes Being Approachable, Responsive, And Helpful In All Interactions.
