
Building and Grounds Attendant

- Perform daily inspections of building and grounds to identify any potential hazards or maintenance needs.
- Conduct routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning, painting, and landscaping to maintain the overall appearance of the building and surrounding grounds.
- Monitor and maintain the proper functioning of heating, cooling, and ventilation systems to ensure a comfortable environment for employees and visitors.
- Respond promptly to any emergency maintenance requests, including plumbing, electrical, or structural issues.
- Maintain an inventory of cleaning and maintenance supplies and notify supervisor when supplies need to be replenished.
- Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and regulations, including proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials.
- Assist with event set-up and breakdown, including moving furniture, setting up tables and chairs, and other tasks as needed.
- Collaborate with other departments to identify and address any maintenance or safety concerns.
- Keep accurate records of all maintenance tasks and report any major issues to supervisor.
- Continuously seek out ways to improve the appearance and functionality of the building and grounds, and make recommendations to management.
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude while interacting with coworkers, visitors, and external vendors.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures at all times, including attendance and punctuality.
- Attend training sessions and meetings as required to stay updated on safety protocols and new maintenance procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Of A High School Diploma Or Ged Is Typically Required For A Building And Grounds Attendant Position At New York Power Authority.
Prior Experience In Building Maintenance Or Groundskeeping: Previous Experience In A Similar Role, Such As Building Maintenance, Custodial Work, Or Landscaping, Is Often Preferred For This Position.
Knowledge Of Safety Procedures And Equipment: A Building And Grounds Attendant Must Be Knowledgeable About Safety Procedures And Be Able To Operate Various Equipment And Tools Safely.
Physical Fitness And Ability To Lift Heavy Objects: This Job May Involve Physical Labor, Such As Lifting Heavy Objects And Standing For Extended Periods Of Time, So Applicants Should Be Physically Fit And Able To Meet The Physical Demands Of The Job.
Basic Computer Skills: Many Building And Grounds Tasks May Require The Use Of Basic Computer Programs, Such As Email And Record Keeping, So Applicants Should Have A Basic Understanding Of Computer Skills.
