  1. Develop and maintain software solutions for animation and rigging needs in collaboration with the animation and rigging teams.
  2. Utilize industry-leading software engineering practices and techniques to create high-quality and efficient animation and rigging tools.
  3. Work closely with the animation and rigging departments to understand their needs and provide technical solutions to improve their workflows.
  4. Continuously research and implement new technologies and techniques to enhance the animation and rigging process.
  5. Collaborate with other software engineers, designers, and artists to ensure seamless integration of animation and rigging tools into our production pipeline.
  6. Troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues related to animation and rigging tools.
  7. Write clear and concise technical documentation for all animation and rigging tools and processes.
  8. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in animation and rigging software development.
  9. Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to ensure high-quality and efficient code.
  10. Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and timely delivery of projects.
  11. Proactively identify and address any potential issues or roadblocks that may impact the delivery of projects.
  12. Collaborate with project managers to ensure project deadlines and milestones are met.
  13. Mentor and guide junior team members to improve their technical skills and knowledge in animation and rigging software development.

Job Qualifications
  • Expertise In 3D Animation Software: A Strong Understanding Of Industry-Standard 3D Animation Software Such As Maya, Blender, Or Houdini Is Essential For This Role. The Candidate Should Be Able To Create High-Quality Character Animations And Rigging Systems Using These Tools.

  • Knowledge Of Animation Principles: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Solid Understanding Of Animation Principles Such As Timing, Weight, And Anticipation. They Should Be Able To Use These Principles To Create Believable And Expressive Character Animations.

  • Familiarity With Scripting And Coding: As A Software Engineer, The Candidate Should Have Experience With Scripting Languages Such As Python, Mel, Or Javascript. This Skill Will Be Necessary For Automating Animation Tasks And Developing Tools To Improve The Animation And Rigging Pipelines.

  • Strong Problem-Solving Skills: A Software Engineer – Animation & Rigging At Netflix Should Possess Excellent Problem-Solving Skills. They Should Be Able To Troubleshoot Technical Issues, Optimize Workflows, And Find Solutions To Complex Animation And Rigging Challenges.

  • Experience With Real-Time Animation: As Netflix Continues To Expand Its Presence In The Gaming Industry, Experience With Real-Time Animation Engines Such As Unity Or Unreal Engine Is Highly Desirable. This Skill Will Enable The Candidate To Create Interactive And Responsive Character Animations For Netflix's Gaming Projects.
