Job Description

We’re looking for a talented and proactive Product Counsel to join our legal team at Netflix. Our ideal candidate is a highly experienced legal professional with a passion for technology and media, and the drive to help us expand our content offerings. The Product Counsel will provide strategic legal advice on a range of matters related to the development and operation of our products and services. As such, they must have a thorough knowledge of the legal and regulatory issues surrounding technology, media, and entertainment. This individual will need to be comfortable working in an ever-changing and fast-paced environment, and must be able to identify and mitigate legal risk while partnering with business teams to drive development.Our ideal candidate will have a JD degree and at least 5 years of experience in technology and media law. They should have a deep understanding of the laws and regulations related to technology, entertainment, media, and e-commerce, as well as a proven track record of successfully managing complex legal matters. Responsibilities:

  1. Provide legal advice on matters related to the development and operation of products and services.
  2. Stay up-to-date with laws and regulations related to technology, entertainment, media, and e-commerce.
  3. Identify and mitigate legal risk while partnering with business teams.
  4. Draft, negotiate, and enforce contracts related to technology, media, and entertainment.
  5. Advise on legal issues related to digital media and intellectual property.
  6. Monitor changes in relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  7. Develop and maintain relationships with external counsel and other external stakeholders.
  8. Engage in proactive risk management and issue resolution.
  9. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure legal compliance.
  10. Support legal department initiatives and projects.
