  1. Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes for merchandise and inventory accounts.
  2. Review and analyze financial data to ensure accuracy and identify any discrepancies.
  3. Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations for merchandise and inventory accounts.
  4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure proper recording and tracking of inventory transactions.
  5. Monitor and analyze inventory levels and make recommendations for inventory management and control.
  6. Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports for management and external stakeholders.
  7. Ensure compliance with accounting principles, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
  8. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in merchandise accounting.
  9. Train and mentor junior team members on merchandise accounting processes and procedures.
  10. Communicate effectively with internal and external auditors to facilitate audits and address any findings.
  11. Participate in inventory counts and audits to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  12. Stay updated on industry trends and developments related to merchandise accounting and inventory management.
  13. Serve as a subject matter expert for merchandise accounting and provide guidance to other departments as needed.
  14. Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities related to merchandise and inventory.
  15. Collaborate with IT team to implement and maintain accounting systems and tools.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Accounting, Finance, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 5 Years Experience In Accounting, Preferably In The Retail Industry.

  • Strong Understanding Of Merchandising And Inventory Management Principles.

  • Proficiency In Financial Analysis And Reporting, Including Experience With Erp Systems And Advanced Excel Skills.

  • Excellent Communication And Leadership Skills, With The Ability To Manage And Develop A Team.
