- Assist in the handling of personal lines insurance claims, including evaluating coverage and determining liability.
- Communicate with customers, agents, and other parties involved in the claims process to provide updates and gather necessary information.
- Learn and understand the insurance policies and procedures of Nationwide Mutual Insurance.
- Attend training and educational sessions to gain knowledge about the insurance industry and claims handling.
- Utilize computer systems and software to document and process claims.
- Work closely with team members and supervisors to ensure timely and accurate claim resolution.
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills when interacting with customers and colleagues.
- Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.
- Take initiative and proactively seek opportunities to learn and take on new tasks.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures, as well as industry regulations and standards.
- Participate in special projects and other duties as assigned by supervisors.

Strong Communication Skills: The Ability To Effectively Communicate With Policyholders, Insurance Agents, And Other Team Members Is Essential For A Personal Lines Claims Intern. This Includes Written And Verbal Communication, As Well As Active Listening Skills.
Knowledge Of Insurance Policies: A Basic Understanding Of Personal Lines Insurance Policies, Including Homeowners, Auto, And Renters Insurance, Is Necessary For This Role. This Includes Knowledge Of Coverage Limits, Deductibles, And Exclusions.
Attention To Detail: As A Personal Lines Claims Intern, You Will Be Responsible For Accurately Documenting And Processing Claims. This Requires A High Level Of Attention To Detail To Ensure That All Information Is Correct And Complete.
Customer Service Experience: Previous Experience In A Customer Service Role, Whether In-Person Or Over The Phone, Is Valuable For This Position. The Ability To Provide Excellent Customer Service And Handle Difficult Situations With Empathy And Professionalism Is Crucial.
Ability To Work In A Team Environment: The Personal Lines Claims Team At Nationwide Operates In A Collaborative Environment, So The Ability To Work Well With Others Is Important. This Includes Being Open To Feedback, Contributing Ideas, And Supporting Team Members.
