Job Description

At Nationwide Mutual Insurance, we are looking for a highly motivated, detail-oriented Claims Adjuster to join our team. The right candidate will have a thorough understanding of insurance policies and procedures, as well as strong customer service skills. Our ideal candidate should be able to effectively manage and process claims, while providing a positive customer service experience.The successful candidate should have a minimum of 3 years of experience in the insurance industry, preferably in the claims field, as well as a thorough knowledge of insurance regulations and the claims process. This individual should also be proficient in Microsoft Office and have the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. In addition to strong technical skills, the Claims Adjuster should also have excellent communication and customer service skills, as well as a friendly and professional demeanor.

Responsibilities:

  1. Manage and process insurance claims in accordance with company policies.
  2. Investigate, document, and analyze claims information to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  3. Maintain detailed records of claims, including investigations, settlements, and payments.
  4. Respond to customer inquiries and provide information regarding claim status and process.
  5. Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
  6. Monitor and update claim information in the company database.
  7. Prepare and submit accurate claims documents to insurers.
  8. Negotiate settlements and payments with policyholders and claimants.
  9. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of insurance policies and procedures.
  10. Utilize Microsoft Office to generate reports and documents.
