Job Description

At Nationwide Mutual Insurance, we are looking for a Benefits Specialist who is passionate about helping employees and customers with their benefits. This role requires someone who is organized, detail-oriented, and a strong communicator. The Benefits Specialist will be responsible for managing employee benefits programs, maintaining records, and providing customer service to our employees and customers. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years' experience in employee benefits administration, a strong knowledge of federal and state rules and regulations, and excellent customer service skills. They must also be comfortable working independently as well as in a team, and possess excellent problem-solving and organizational skills. Responsibilities:

  1. Develop, manage, and monitor employee benefits programs, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.
  2. Maintain employee benefits records and ensure accuracy of data.
  3. Provide customer service to employees and customers regarding their benefits.
  4. Troubleshoot and resolve customer issues in a timely manner.
  5. Work independently and collaboratively with other team members.
  6. Utilize problem-solving and organizational skills to create effective solutions.
  7. Develop and implement strategies to improve customer service and customer experience.
  8. Stay up-to-date with federal and state regulations and requirements related to employee benefits.
  9. Act as a resource for employees and customers, providing accurate and timely information.
  10. Monitor and evaluate employee benefits programs, making recommendations for improvements.
