Job Description

Nationwide Mutual Insurance is looking for a Benefits Specialist to join our team! We are looking for an individual with excellent communication and customer service skills, as well as a passion for helping our associates understand and utilize their benefits. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field and a minimum of three years of Human Resources benefits experience. They will need to be comfortable working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.As a Benefits Specialist, you will be responsible for administering a variety of employee benefit plans; working with insurance carriers to resolve benefit-related issues; and providing guidance to associates on plan design, eligibility, and utilization of benefits. You will also be responsible for producing reports and interpreting benefit policies. You must also have the ability to develop and maintain relationships with insurance carriers, vendors, and internal stakeholders. Responsibilities:

  1. Administering a variety of employee benefit plans
  2. Working with insurance carriers to resolve benefit-related issues
  3. Providing guidance to associates on plan design, eligibility, and utilization of benefits
  4. Producing reports and interpreting benefit policies
  5. Developing and maintaining relationships with insurance carriers, vendors, and internal stakeholders
  6. Ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
  7. Maintaining accurate records and documentation
  8. Answering employee inquiries and resolving issues
  9. Collaborating with other departments to ensure a seamless benefits experience
  10. Staying up to date on trends in benefits administration
