Job Description

As a key member of Nationwide Mutual Insurance's team of Actuaries, you will be responsible for analyzing and evaluating complex financial risks and providing financial guidance to the organization. You must have a strong quantitative background, excellent communication skills, and a passion for helping our customers. We are looking for someone who is highly analytical, organized, and able to work independently as well as with a team.Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Business, Economics, or related field and at least 5 years of progressive actuarial experience. Additionally, you must have passed at least 5 Society of Actuaries exams. Preference will be given to those with experience in predictive modeling, financial forecasting, risk management, and/or insurance product design.At Nationwide Mutual Insurance, you will have the opportunity to be part of a team that is making a difference in the lives of our customers. Responsibilities:

  1. Analyze and evaluate complex financial risks and provide financial guidance to the organization.
  2. Utilize predictive modeling, financial forecasting, risk management, and insurance product design.
  3. Develop strategies to help the organization achieve its goals and objectives.
  4. Work independently and collaboratively with other members of the actuarial team.
  5. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of trends and developments in the insurance industry.
  6. Prepare reports and analysis for assessment of financial and actuarial data.
  7. Make recommendations to senior management and stakeholders on actuarial and financial risks.
  8. Monitor and review actuarial and financial data to identify any potential risks.
  9. Collaborate with other departments to ensure effective communication and implementation of strategies.
  10. Participate in meetings and other activities to represent the actuarial team.
