
Actuary
As a key member of Nationwide Mutual Insurance's team of Actuaries, you will be responsible for analyzing and evaluating complex financial risks and providing financial guidance to the organization. You must have a strong quantitative background, excellent communication skills, and a passion for helping our customers. We are looking for someone who is highly analytical, organized, and able to work independently as well as with a team.Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Business, Economics, or related field and at least 5 years of progressive actuarial experience. Additionally, you must have passed at least 5 Society of Actuaries exams. Responsibilities:
- Analyze and evaluate complex financial risks and provide financial guidance to the organization.
- Utilize predictive modeling, financial forecasting, risk management, and insurance product design.
- Develop strategies to help the organization achieve its goals and objectives.
- Work independently and collaboratively with other members of the actuarial team.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of trends and developments in the insurance industry.
- Prepare reports and analysis for assessment of financial and actuarial data.
- Make recommendations to senior management and stakeholders on actuarial and financial risks.
- Monitor and review actuarial and financial data to identify any potential risks.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure effective communication and implementation of strategies.
- Participate in meetings and other activities to represent the actuarial team.
