Job Description

We are looking for an experienced and passionate Actuary to join the team at Nationwide Mutual Insurance. The successful candidate will be responsible for helping Nationwide’s financial planning and operations by analyzing and forecasting risk. This position requires a combination of strong analytical skills and business acumen, as well as the ability to work independently and collaboratively.The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, or a related field, as well as significant experience in actuarial analysis and risk assessment. Professional designations such as FCAS, FSA, or MAAA are preferred. Responsibilities:

  1. Perform actuarial analysis and risk assessment to help Nationwide’s financial planning and operations.
  2. Develop and maintain actuarial models to produce accurate forecasts and projections.
  3. Monitor and report on changes in market conditions to identify potential risks and opportunities.
  4. Provide advice and guidance on actuarial and risk topics to internal stakeholders.
  5. Develop and maintain relationships with other financial and insurance professionals.
  6. Prepare and present reports and presentations to senior management.
  7. Stay up-to-date on industry trends and changes in regulations.
  8. Collaborate with other departments to identify and implement solutions to mitigate risk.
  9. Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  10. Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
