Job Description

At Nationwide Mutual Insurance, we are looking for an experienced, passionate, and driven Actuary to join our team. The Actuary will bring their extensive knowledge of actuarial science to analyze and develop life and health insurance products and pricing. The ideal candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field. In addition, they must have a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a similar role. Professional actuarial designations such as ASA, FSA or CERA are also a plus. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of actuarial principles, experience with actuarial concepts, regulatory requirements, and data analysis. Additionally, they must possess excellent problem solving, communication, and organizational skills. Responsibilities:

  1. Analyze and develop life and health insurance products and pricing.
  2. Utilize actuarial principles and concepts in order to meet regulatory requirements.
  3. Collaborate with other teams to ensure the successful completion of projects.
  4. Conduct data analysis to identify trends and potential risks associated with new products.
  5. Design and implement actuarial techniques to analyze the profitability of existing and proposed products.
  6. Stay up-to-date on industry trends and regulations.
  7. Develop reports to present to stakeholders.
  8. Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
