Our ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of actuarial principles and a passion for problem-solving. We value creative thinking and an eye for detail.The successful candidate must possess a Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, statistics, actuarial science or a related field, as well as a minimum of three years of professional experience in actuarial sciences. Additionally, the Actuary must have Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) designation and a thorough knowledge of actuarial principles, methods, and techniques. The Actuary must also demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to work cross-functionally and collaborate with other departments. Responsibilities:
- Analyze and interpret data to assess potential risk and design appropriate actuarial models for pricing and reserving
- Perform actuarial calculations and develop spreadsheets and other documents to illustrate results
- Implement and monitor actuarial assumptions and processes
- Prepare and analyze experience studies
- Develop rate indications and pricing models
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of actuarial models
- Assist in the design and implementation of new products
- Participate in the development of actuarial rate filing packages
- Provide actuarial advice and technical guidance to other departments
- Respond to inquiries from regulatory bodies
- Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of actuarial principles, methods, and techniques
- Maintain a strong understanding of industry trends and developments
- Proactively identify potential areas of risk and develop mitigation plans
- Ensure accuracy of financial data and actuarial models
- Utilize creative thinking and an eye for detail to develop innovative solutions to complex problems
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills
