Job Description

At Nationwide Mutual Insurance, we are looking for an experienced Actuary to join our team. We need a talented individual who is committed to developing and managing actuarial models and rating plans. The ideal candidate will have an excellent eye for detail and a strong understanding of financial and statistical analysis.The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field, along with 5+ years of progressive work experience in actuarial science, preferably in the insurance industry. They will have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to collaborate with colleagues across the organization.We are looking for an Actuary who is passionate about their work and is eager to help us deliver on our commitment to provide innovative, reliable, and resilient solutions to our customers. Responsibilities of an Actuary:

  1. Develop and manage actuarial models and rating plans.
  2. Perform financial and statistical analysis to identify trends, assess risk, and make recommendations.
  3. Monitor industry trends and developments to ensure plans remain competitive.
  4. Explain actuarial concepts to colleagues and customers in a clear and concise manner.
  5. Prepare reports and presentations to present findings and make recommendations.
  6. Analyze data to identify areas of potential improvement.
  7. Stay current on industry regulations and ensure compliance.
  8. Collaborate with colleagues across the organization to ensure successful execution of projects.
  9. Manage actuarial projects from start to finish.
  10. Provide guidance and support to team members.
