
Actuary
At Nationwide Mutual Insurance, we are looking for an experienced and motivated Actuary to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing complex actuarial and statistical analysis to support the design, pricing, and valuation of insurance and annuity products. To be successful in this role, you must have a strong understanding of actuarial techniques and risk management principles, as well as excellent problem-solving and communication skills. If you are an experienced actuary who is ready to make a positive impact, we want to hear from you!Required Qualifications:• Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, finance, or a related field• Professional actuarial certification (e.g., ASA, FSA, FCAS, or ACAS)• At least 5 years of experience in an actuarial role• Demonstrated proficiency with actuarial and statistical software packages• Strong knowledge of insurance and annuity products• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Responsibilities:
- Analyze data to design, price, and value insurance and annuity products.
- Utilize actuarial techniques and risk management principles to identify and assess potential risks.
- Manage the actuarial and statistical analysis process from start to finish.
- Develop and implement models to measure and monitor the financial performance of insurance and annuity products.
- Stay up-to-date on industry developments and trends and adjust strategies accordingly.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and other documents to communicate findings.
- Provide advice and guidance to colleagues on actuarial and statistical matters.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure that products meet customer needs.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and make recommendations for implementation.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
