Job Description

National Bank of Canada is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Legal Procurement Advisor to join our team. The Legal Procurement Advisor will be responsible for providing procurement and contracting services to support the Bank’s legal department. We are looking for an individual who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and has the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a corporate procurement or legal environment, strong organizational and analytical skills, and a thorough understanding of contracting principles and practices. In addition, the successful candidate should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be a team player, demonstrate the ability to build effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and have the ability to work independently and take ownership of projects.

Responsibilities:

  1. Provide procurement and contracting services to the Bank’s legal department.
  2. Manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  3. Develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  4. Analyze and review legal documents and contracts.
  5. Apply knowledge of contracting principles and practices.
  6. Exercise independent judgement and take ownership of projects.
  7. Monitor and report on the performance of contracts.
  8. Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  9. Provide advice and guidance on legal and contractual matters.
  10. Research and incorporate best practices in procurement and contracting.
