Job Description

The National Bank of Canada is seeking an experienced Lead Specialist - Commercial Collections to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a deep knowledge of commercial collections and proven leadership capabilities. We are looking for a confident, motivated and collaborative individual who will take ownership of the collections process while providing support and guidance to our team.This position requires a minimum of 3 years of experience in a collections role with a financial institution, with experience in a lead or supervisory capacity preferred. The successful candidate should have an understanding of the legal aspects of collections, along with the ability to develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Other qualifications include excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong problem solving and decision making abilities, and strong interpersonal skills.The Lead Specialist - Commercial Collections will be responsible for providing strategic direction and guidance to the collections team in order to ensure timely and effective collections of commercial accounts. The successful candidate will be a critical member of the team, driving results and helping to ensure that all collections objectives are met.

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring timely and effective collections of commercial accounts.
  2. Lead and direct the collections team in order to ensure timely and effective collections of commercial accounts.
  3. Monitor and analyze collection performance, and develop strategies to improve performance.
  4. Manage and resolve customer disputes and complaints in order to maintain positive relationships with customers.
  5. Develop and implement policies and procedures related to collections.
  6. Ensure compliance with all applicable federal and provincial laws and regulations.
  7. Provide guidance and support to the collections team.
  8. Train and mentor team members in collections best practices.
  9. Utilize strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities to resolve issues.
  10. Create and maintain detailed records of all collection activities.
